Heading toward Eagle Island checkpoint . . .

Angie and the dogs are now on their way to Eagle Island, the halfway point along the Yukon River.  She checked out of Grayling at 6:14 pm.  According to reports from the trail, it looks like the mushers and their dogs are facing rain, deep wet snow, overflow and winds around Eagle Island.  Please keep Angie and the other mushers and their dogs in your thoughts and prayers for safe traveling.  ONWARD TO NOME!!!!

Hi Angie & Mrs. Taggart. It's me, Jane, writing again from New Jersey.

I am so excited that Angie has moved up a few spots. Way to go!!!

I have a few more questions for you:

* How much snow is Angie mushing through and what does she wear to stay warm?

* Which dog is her favorite? Where do the dogs live when they aren't mushing? What do they do all day?

* What does Angie feed her dogs?

* What happens to the dogs who get hurt or tired during the race? Do they go to an animal hospital?

* What is Angie's favorite food? (Mine is hot dogs.)

Please write back. I am checking the standings five times every day. Go Angie!!!!!!!!!

:) Jane
