Fundraiser Dinner

My friends enjoying their crab and salmon dinner.

Tonights dinner was a lot of fun. I had a great time seeing my friends and sharing information about my love of dog mushing. The jazz band did a wonderful job playing music tonight. I will add more photos soon . . .

Tomorrow is the Fundraiser Dinner!

The day has almost arrived for the BIG Fundraiser Dinner! I am very excited and nervous at the same time. This will be the largest event that I have ever spear-headed. People have been so supportive. Thank you to everyone who is helping make this a reality. I would've never been able to do this on my own!

Pennock Island Challenge - 8.2 miles

Swimming one of the legs around Pennock Island naked!
Tina was one of our kayakers keeping us on the straight and narrow.
The "Ladies Team" at the finish buoy: Me, Nell, Francis, and Penny

Last weekend I swam around Pennock Island (an island across from Ketchikan) with three other awesome ladies. It was my first open water racing experience and I loved it. We all took turns swimming around the island. We swam in 1/2 hour increments. The swim is a sanctioned Master's Swimming event. The swim is used to raise money for the American Diabetes Association. I am hoping to swim again next year with one other teammate.

The 4th of July Parade

Waiting in line for the parade to start at noon.

Booting Tundra up for the parade - I later removed them due to the warm weather.

Still waiting!

I love seeing that flag fly through the air!

Nome or Bust - pretty much says it all!

The whole group

Eleanor and I leading the pack along with Tundra and Svenna!

Recieving my "Best Interpretation of Parade Theme" award at the Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show. A few minutes later it was announced that I also took the award for "Best Overall".
